Public Speaking

Do you sometimes feel overwhelmed when you have to speak in public?  Oh, I know exactly how you feel, as I have been there myself many times.

The Lord our God says, to you and me, in the book of Isaiah 50:4 :

The Lord God has given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak

Once again, He reminds us in the gospel of Matthew 10:19, when Jesus said:

But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak

Many times, I have found myself on a platform in an open area, faced with a crowd of many thousands of people who have come to hear the Word of God, and I have often felt totally overwhelmed, not knowing where to start, or what to say.  But as I have prayed, the prayer found in Psalm 19:14, which says:

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O Lord, my strength and my Redeemer.

Then our beloved Lord Jesus takes over, and He literally gives me the words of life to speak to the desperate souls, who are looking for answers I could never give them.
