Salty

Mark 9:50

“Salt is good, but if the salt loses its flavor, how will you season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace with one another.”

We are to be salty folks, and we are to walk in peace with one another. Being of Scottish roots, I love a bowl of porridge oats for breakfast, especially on a cold and frosty morning. But if you make porridge with no salt in it, it is bland and tasteless. To be quite honest with you, 
I struggle to eat it. Jesus is saying that we need to be salty in these days. We need to love one another, be gracious and kind to one another, but we've got to be salty. If something needs to be said, we must say it and say it with love; people will receive it.

Today, be salty, for this world is in need of people who speak the truth in love.
